Be A Little Star

100% of the proceeds raised through the WLR Christmas Appeal goes directly to the Saint Vincent de Paul in Waterford to support the society’s ongoing services across our City and County.

With your help, through a variety of events and initiatives we aim to help as many families in Waterford as we can through the great work of the St Vincent De Paul.

The money you donate to the WLR Christmas Appeal will go directly to the SVP in Waterford so they can continue to provide the services that help people to have a better life. The services provided not only include financial assistance for food, bills, rent, fuel and electricity where necessary, but also, support for people in making a better life for themselves and their families. These services including providing childcare so parents can get back to work without the burden of crippling childcare costs, and assistance with funding for school and college. We want to help the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul break the poverty cycle in Waterford long term.

2020 Events

As we all know, the year 2020, and the worldwide pandemic of Covid-19 means that the work of St Vincent De Paul is more important now than ever. All events this year will be slightly different as we move everything online. However, we know that we will still get massive support from the people of Waterford and beyond that we always do. Also, we hope to return with some of our old favourites, such as the Santa Run and the Christmas Day Swim, as well as some new and exciting events like the 12 dogs of Christmas.

All events will be run virtually, online while adhering to the government guidelines for Covid-19. However, you can still donate and partake, safely and securely using our website or justgiving.com

Care for a Cuppa

Over the past number of years, we have had some fantastic coffee mornings in aid of the WLR Christmas Appeal.

This year, due to Covid-19, we are doing things a bit differently. We want you to have your own socially distanced coffee morning to raise funds for the appeal.

So pop the scones in the oven, open up the “good biscuits” phone a friend for a chat and while you are doing that please donate the cost of a cuppa or two to our Care for a Cuppa Campaign.

You can do so by donating below, or simply text Appeal to 50300 to give 4euro. Maybe have your own zoom coffee morning at home or at work.

Your support is greatly appreciated and all proceeds raised goes directly to the St. Vincent de Paul in Waterford
